About the initiative
What is ITIDA Gigs?
ITIDA Gigs is a freelancing capacity-building program by the IT Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), through its Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications and IT (MCIT). It extends the Egypt FWD initiative to help Egyptian youth join the global digital freelancing market.
Over three months you learn how freelancing really works — profiles, proposals, pricing, clients and AI tools — and you practise it until you land and complete a real paid gig.

Who can apply?
Make sure you meet these criteria before applying.
- 18 years or older
- University student or graduate
- Very good tech skills (or selected non-tech skills)
- English at B1 level or higher
- Earned less than USD 1,200 from freelancing in the last 12 months
- Freelancing study: not required, but a plus
How you’re accepted
Pass a proctored English (B1) and technical (intermediate) assessment

Be a graduate of a technical program from MCIT, ITIDA, ITI or NTI

How long is the program?
3 months, combining 12 live webinars, self-paced courses, weekly office hours and proposal reviews, plus 6 workshops at Creativa hubs.
Do I need freelancing experience?
No. The program is for people who are new to freelancing or have earned less than USD 1,200 from it in the last 12 months.
Is the program free?
Yes. ITIDA Gigs is fully funded — accepted participants don’t pay any program fees.
How are applicants accepted?
Either pass English (B1) and technical (intermediate) assessments, or show you graduated from an MCIT, ITIDA, ITI or NTI technical program.
What do I need to graduate?
Finish 90% of the Freelancing 101 and Gen-AI courses, attend 80% of webinars and onsite sessions, submit 10 proposals, and complete at least one paid gig.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes — a completion certificate signed, plus a Freelancer ID with access to all Freelancer.eg perks.
